Liverpool are planning a January swoop for Barcelona forward Arda Turan, according to reports
The £29m playmaker endured a staggered start to his Nou Camp career after joining in 2015 but only made his debut in January this year owing to the club’s transfer embargo.
To date, the Turkey international has made 37 appearances for the reigning La Liga champions and failed to secure a regular starting place under Luis Enrique.
Don Balon claim that Jurgen Klopp is keen to capitalise on the Reds’ long-standing link with Turan to strengthen his attacking options in January.
The 29-year-old has previously made no secret of his fondness for Liverpool, revealing to Four Four Two in 2014 that he idolised Steven Gerrard.
“I’ve always played for teams in red [Galatasaray, Manisaspor, Atletico Madrid, Turkey] and I’ve always admired Steven Gerrard,” he said at the time.
“So yes, I have a soft spot for Liverpool, especially given their history and the atmosphere at Anfield.”
