Jurgen Klopp’s funny reaction after being told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a ‘big fan’ of his

It’s hard not to be envious of how good Liverpool are under Jurgen Klopp at the moment if you’re a Chelsea, Manchester United or Arsenal fan.

For years they were the three giants of the Premier League, but now the tables have turned and Liverpool are the ones challenging for every piece of silverware.

Heading into the final game of the season the Reds are on 94 points, one behind league leaders Manchester City and still in with a chance of winning the title.

Should City slip up against Brighton on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp’s men will be ready to pounce by beating Wolves.

Liverpool are also through to the Champions League final after thrashing Barcelona 4-0 in the semi-finals second leg earlier this week.

They face Tottenham in the final in Madrid and are heavy favourites, with data analysts giving them a 71% chance of winning.

Klopp has completely transformed Liverpool during his three-and-a-half years in charge thanks to his heavy metal style of football and famous ‘gegenpressing’ philosophy.

Liverpool now attack with pace and look to win the ball back with a ferocity that’s too hot to handle for most teams.

Klopp’s tactics are incredibly hard to play against and it seems he has a “big fan” in Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In a recent interview with legendary biathlete Ole Einar Bjørndalen, Klopp was told about Solskjaer’s admiration and he reacted exactly how you would expect.

Here’s how the conversation went down:

Bjørndalen: “I want to ask you about Solskjaer. I think he’s a really big fan of you.”

Klopp: “You cannot say that! Cut!”

Bjørndalen: “He said one time: ‘I studied Klopp at [Borussia] Dortmund and his football is something we would like, especially the speed and intensity of his attacking play.'”

Klopp: “He’s Manchester United, he cannot say he likes the manager of Liverpool.”

Bjørndalen: “But he wishes to be like you.”

Klopp: “Okay, getting better. My God, I’m going to have to think about that if you want to show it. I met him when he was at Molde, only a year ago when we were in Marbella.”

Bjørndalen: “Do you remember this picture?”

Klopp: “Yeah, I met him. I think we were between the Porto games.”

Bjørndalen: “He wants to copy you.”

Klopp: “[Laughs] You cannot say that!”

Bjørndalen: “You think he can be better than you if he copies you?”

Klopp: “Look, we all get inspiration from somewhere.”

Clearly Klopp didn’t know what the right answer was when Bjørndalen told him that Solskjaer is a “big fan” of his, so he just laughed. Never change, Jurgen.
