Jurgen Klopp Turns His Interest to the ‘African Deco’ as He Looks to Kick On with Transfer Business

Liverpool are interested in signing RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita, and reports claim that Jurgen Klopp is willing to spend big in order to prise him away from the Bundesliga outfit.

Dubbed the ‘African Deco’, Keita has burst onto the scene in an impressive season with his current side – helping Leipzig finish second in the Bundesliga last season, securing a Champions League spot for next term.

The Guinean, according to the Liverpool Echo is a high priority for Jurgen Klopp this summer as the German boss attempts to strengthen his side ahead of their own Champions League challenge next season.

The Liverpool manager is reportedly happy to bid up to £50m for the in-demand 22-year-old, with Leipzig very reluctant to sell one of the most formidable players.

Liverpool aren’t alone in the hunt for Keita, and Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich are also believed to be keen on his services as well as Arsenal and Premier League champions Chelsea.

The bottom line is that the Reds would have a big challenge in signing Keita if Leipzig were to sell, having to fight off stronger competitors than themselves.

Keita isn’t the only target for Liverpool. After signing Mohamed Salah from AS Roma, Klopp is looking to kick on with his transfer business, and the club are being linked with players in all positions on the pitch.

Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a prominent link on the rumour mill to the Reds, as is Kylian Mbappe – with Klopp eager to attempt to sign the world’s most sought after player.

Of course, there is also the question of Virgil van Dijk. Interest isn’t simply lost in players and it may be worth keeping an eye out – there may be another twist in the tale on this one.
