Liverpool have placed Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez top of their transfer wishlist for the summer window, report Calciomercato.
Mahrez had a stellar season last time around, but has struggled to replicate that good form this term. The Algerian scored 17 goals and provided 11 assists in the Premier League last campaign, as Leicester defied the odds to lift the title under Claudio Ranieri’s stewardship.
However, the €65m-rated winger has scored just three goals and provided two assists this season. Without the immeasurable influence of their talisman, Leicester find themselves in a relegation scrap and it subsequently cost Ranieri his job.
Despite the 26-year-old enduring a season to forget, Mahrez still appears to be catching the eye of one Leicester’s Premier League counterparts.
Calciomercato cite Tuttomercatoweb in reporting that Liverpool will make a move for Mahrez in the summer window. The Reds already have a star-studded attacking line in Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino; Mahrez might just be the man to take it to the next level.
