With Liverpool about to enter a crucial stage of their season, Jurgen Klopp has decided to take some members of his squad to Tenerife during the two-week international break.
The likes of James Milner, Dejan Lovren and Alberto Moreno all joined Klopp on the Canary Island as they prepare for their Merseyside derby on April Fool’s Day.
But this is no pre-season training.
Klopp won’t be worried about improving his side’s fitness levels with just nine matches remaining this season. Instead, this trip is more about team bonding and having fun.
And that much could be seen in a training video posted on Twitter by Liverpool’s official account.
In the video, Klopp has got his players chipping a ball from the edge of the box onto the crossbar before attempting to run onto it and head it into the empty net.
It sounds hard, it looks hard and the Liverpool players prove that it is hard.
With numerous Liverpool players attempting it at the same time, it’s quite hard to see each ball. However, there are a few players that we’ve picked out.
First up is Moreno who proceeds to chip the ball onto the bar before doing the same with his head – how unlucky!
Then it’s Lovren’s turn to be laughed out. The defender also hits the bar but completely misjudges the header and ends up flat on his back.
To say that Klopp enjoyed it would be an understatement as he couldn’t stop laughing.
The scene was set for Milner.
We all know how cool the midfielder-come-full-back is under pressure – as epitomised at the Etihad with his penalty on Sunday – and he produced a lovely chip against the bar being converting with his head.
That’s how it’s done.
