Jurgen Klopp backed to sign world-class No.11 forward valued at £75m

Liverpool have been pretty much inactive in the summer transfer window as far as reinforcing the first team is concerned.

Will they be able to secure a key signing before the end of the transfer window? We shall see.

Liverpool legend and former Republic of Ireland star, Mark Lawrensen, has backed Jurgen Klopp to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid because he thinks that the German boss is the perfect man to revive the career of the Welsh forward (The Daily Star).

Lawrensen said:

“I think Klopp could get the best out of him. The only problem is would he fit into that front three but you could even play him on the left of the three in midfield and let him bomb on .

“He’s such a good player and such a talent. He just needs to be loved and Klopp would be the perfect fit to do that. People say he’s got injury problems and all that but Klopp would get him mega fit.”

The former Tottenham Hostpur star has proved his worth in the PL. At White Hart Lane, he won the PFA Player’s Player of the Year award on two occasions. Apart from Bale, only superstars like Alan Shearer, Mark Hughes, French legend Thierry Henry and current Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo have won the prize more than once.

He has won four European Cups and every domestic competition with the Spanish giants. Not to forget, he netted decisive goals in the 2013-14 and 2017-18 Champions League finals against the Rojiblancos and the Reds respectively.
