Liverpool are preparing a £22.5 million bid to sign Atalanta teenager Frank Kessie, according to a report in Italy.
Corriere dello Sport claim Liverpool have been scouting the youngster throughout the season and they are ready to make a formal offer for Kessie in January.
It is said that the midfielder has been targeted by Jurgen Klopp in 2017 after impressing during his performances for Atalanta in Serie A this season.

His side currently sit in sixth place in the Italian first division and Kessie has become one of the star players in the team despite his youth.
The 19-year-old has already netted five goals and provided one assist in just 13 Serie A appearances and has already attracted attention from the top sides in Italy.
Juventus are believed to be one of the biggest clubs who are interested but Liverpool’s interest is clear given the fact their scouts have been there throughout the season according to the report.
Kessie is already an experienced youngster and is a regular international for Ivory Coast as well as a key senior figure in the Atalanta team. He’s clearly got bags of talent and £22 million would be a good price if Klopp can persuade him to the Premier League, although given Liverpool’s attacking quality already in the side he would not be a priority. Liverpool will need to bolster their midfield before considering any more attacking midfield options so it’s unlikely Klopp will make a move in January. Mamadou Sakho could also be on his way to Italy so he could play a part in a two-way deal though? Kessie would be a great addition to Liverpool’s midfield, who could be looking to off-load Lucas at the end of the season and Klopp is the perfect manager to guide him.
