The RB Leipzig man would be a superb signing for Liverpool this summer.
The Reds have enjoyed a fairly successful Premier League campaign this season, and wraped up qualification for the Champions League after beating already-relegated Middlesbrough on Sunday.
Jürgen Klopp has a lot of work to do over the summer, however, if he is to take Liverpool forward next term, and challenge for major honours on all fronts.
One particular area of concern for the German will be his lack of options in attacking wide areas, and how his side have struggled during the absence of Sadio Mane.
With this in mind, the addition of a pacey front-man will surely feature highly on Klopp’s wish-list this summer, and RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner could be just the man for the job.
The 21-year-old has been in sensational form for the Bundesliga outfit this season, scoring 21 goals and chipping in with five assists in 31 league outings for his club.
He can play anywhere along the front line, although he is more of an orthodox centre-forward, and he would provide excellent competition for the likes of Roberto Firmino and Mane in the forward positions.
Werner is extremely quick, and technically gifted with the ball at his feet. He has mastered the art of making perfectly timed runs into the channels, which is quite an impressive feat, for someone so young.
He still has three years remaining on his current deal with Leipzig, however, so prising him away from Germany will not be easy. If Klopp and the Liverpool board are serious about making genuine progress though, Werner is exactly the type of player who they should be targeting.
With the former Borussia Dortmund manager renowned for working wonders with young talents, Werner could flourish at Anfield, should a move to the Reds come to fruition this summer.
