“He is free to leave” – Liverpool given chance to sign 27-year-old PSG star

The agent of Paris Saint-Germain misfit Kevin Trapp has opened the door for Liverpool to sign the goalkeeper in January.

Trapp has made 60 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG since joining the club back in 2015, but the German is being heavily linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes in the new year.

Alphonse Areola has established himself as Unai Emery’s first-choice ‘keeper in Paris and Trapp recently talked up a move to Anfield, labelling Liverpool an ‘amazing’ club.

Asked if Trapp could move on from PSG in January, his representative Jorg Neubauer told Sport 1: ‘If there is a chance in the winter, Kevin wants to leave Paris.’

Both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius continue to struggle between the sticks on Merseyside and Le 10 Sport claim Jurgen Klopp would welcome a move for Trapp.

Trapp has hinted that he would relish the chance to work under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. ‘It’s an amazing club with a great tradition,’ the Germany shot-stopper told Sport 1 last month.

‘And of course, I’m a fan of the Premier League. The Reds are not without interest, they have already won many titles and Jürgen Klopp is of course a very good coach.

‘I have not thought of possible clubs yet. However, many things can happen in football. ‘Even if I’m not the most patient person, I have to stay cool.’
