GINI WIJNALDUM wants his Holland team-mate Quincy Promes to join him at Liverpool.
Liverpool scouts have been watching Spartak Moscow frontman Promes closely ahead of a possible £25m move.
Promes, 24, is open to joining the Reds and Jurgen Klopp looks set to up the ante in the coming weeks after missing out of Julian Draxler.
Wijnaldum claims he hasn’t spoken to Promes about a transfer but would be keen for it to happen.
Wijnaldum said: “I think he [Promes] knows how great Liverpool is – I knew it before I came here.
“I don’t know if everything is true about what they say as I don’t speak with him about that.
“Of course I want him to come to Liverpool because I know he is a good player and also a good person who can help the team.
“But it is something for the manager and the scouts, not for me.
“I just read it in the papers or on the internet.”
