Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum refused to provide an update on his contract situation when asked about his future at Anfield.
The 30-year-old’s existing deal with the Reds is due to expire next summer, and he was strongly linked with a move to Barcelona during the recent transfer window.
Wijnaldum ultimately remained with Jurgen Klopp’s side past the deadline, but there remains speculation surrounding his future as the end of his contract draws closer.
The Netherlands international has insisted that questions surrounding a potential fresh agreement should be directed towards the Premier League champions.
“I can’t say anything about that,” Wijnaldum told Het Parool. “Just ask Liverpool those questions. Don’t they answer?
“I cannot say anything about it, including whether or not there is talk of a new contract between me and Liverpool. Sorry.”
The midfielder has made 13 appearances for the Reds during the 2020-21 campaign.
