Liverpool midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza will not rejoin German side Hertha Berlin on loan next season, according to Bild.
The Brazillian is held in high regard by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who has previously labelled Allan an “outstanding talent”.

“He’s 19 years old, an outstanding talent, a good player with a good attitude, everybody loves him, he’s a nice lad – so that’s really, really good. He’s a smart player,” Klopp said.
“There is no chance in this moment here because he can’t get the permission to play here, so we have to send him out on loan. However, problems with obtaining a work permit have prevented Allan from returning to Anfield.”
However, problems with obtaining a work permit have prevented Allan from rejoining his parent club.
In fact, just prior to the conclusion of the season, Hertha’s sporting director Michael Preetz stated that he did not expect the youngster to acquire a work permit in time for the 2017/18 campaign.
“Even if Allan were to play in all final four Bundesliga games of the season, he would not reach the necessary points,” he told German outlet Berliner Morgenpost.
But with the new season fast approaching, Hertha have no interest in retaining the 20-year-old’s services. This is despite Liverpool reportedly reducing a considerable loan fee. Instead, it is said that Hertha is looking to develop 18-year-old Arne Maier – a player that managed to move ahead of Allan in the defensive midfield pecking order last year.
“Arne is a young talent that we want to promote,” Hertha boss Pal Dardai said. “If he continues to work hard, I’m going to throw him in the league.”
