Former Real Madrid star wants to play in the Champions League: He’s open to Liverpool move

IKER CASILLAS is reportedly desperate to play in the Premier League.

Casillas, 36, has been widely linked with a move away from Porto in recent weeks.

And, according to Diario Gol, the legendary goalkeeper has decided he will only join a world-class club.

He is said to have already snubbed two offers from Turkey, while an MLS move has apparently been put on the back burner for now.

Instead Casillas reportedly wants to continue playing in the Champions League.

And Diario Gol believe he would love to do so with a Premier League club, with England’s top flight said to be his “great obsession”.

Liverpool were linked with a surprise move for the former Real Madrid star last week.

And Diario Gol claim Casillas would be very open joining the Reds, who will be playing Champions League football next season.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to seriously bolster his squad ahead of a return to Europe’s premier club competition.

But, according to the Liverpool Echo, he is not set to pursue a move for Casillas or any goalkeeper at all.

Klopp apparently has total faith in Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

Diario Gol add that playing in Germany, France or Italy would also appeal to Casillas.

However he apparently has no intention of joining a Spanish club because he does not want to line up against Real Madrid.

Casillas won five league titles and picked up three Champions League winner’s medals with the Bernabeu outfit before leaving to join Porto on a free transfer in 2015.
