LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp is considering a transfer swoop for Monaco winger Keita Balde.
The Reds have been left with a gaping hole in their attack following Philippe Coutinho’s £142m move to Barcelona earlier this month.
They’ve been linked with a number of attackers to replace the Brazilian, including Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez and Monaco star Thomas Lemar.
But Klopp has reportedly been put off by the French club’s £90m valuation of their talisman.
And according to the Mirror, they’re ready to turn their attention to team-mate Balde.
The 22-year-old only signed for the French side from Lazio last summer in a deal worth £30m.
Napoli have been negotiating a deal to sign the Senegal international this week.
But the Mirror claim that Liverpool are preparing to hijack the deal, as are Premier League rivals Arsenal, who were also linked with Lemar.
Monaco sporting director Michael Emenalo’s role involves buying players at low cost and selling them on for a profit so the French champions could look to sell Balde.
The flying winger has scored five times this season, providing nine assists.
Liverpool are keen for new faces as they look to replicate their strong first-half of the season.
They’re currently fourth in the Premier League and return to action on Tuesday with a trip to Huddersfield (8pm).
