Football fans feel sorry for Fabinho after Pele’s tweet about Liverpool

The Premier League is back.

Manchester United and Leicester will kick-off proceedings on Friday night before the rest of the action at the weekend.

Football fans are busy finalising their Fantasy Football sides, placing bets and making their predictions.

But it’s not just fans in England that are getting excited at the return of the Premier League.

It seems Brazil legend Pele is also buzzing that it’s back.

After the Premier League’s official Twitter account tweeted: ‘The Premier League is back. Are you ready?” Pele just felt the need to respond.

And it wasn’t just a simple “yes” reply from Pele.

He decided to make a prediction ahead of the big kick-off.

He replied: “It’s the start of the @PremierLeague today. Who do you think will win? I think it’s the year of Liverpool, Alisson and Firmino!”

Big shout from Pele.

Obviously, Pele is backing two of his compatriots for glory.

But what about Fabinho?

The Brazilian midfielder joined Liverpool from Monaco in a £39 million deal and many fans pointed out that Pele had completely overlooked the 24-year-old – and they felt kinda sorry for him.

Check out the reaction:

Of course, Pele could have easily said that he was backing Manchester City with their Brazilian quartet of Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho, Ederson and Danilo.

Instead, he clearly believes Liverpool will win their first ever Premier League trophy this season.
