If Liverpool go on to win the Champions League by beating Real Madrid on Saturday evening, their journey to a sixth European Cup will be retold again and again and again.
There have been some very memorable evenings, starting with the 7-0 wins against Maribor and Spartak Moscow in the group stages.
Liverpool then went to Porto and won 5-0 before outclassing Manchester City over two legs.
But the semi-final tie against Roma was a rollercoaster ride.
The Reds were 5-0 up in the first leg at Anfield and were cruising to the final when Roma scored two late goals.
It would still require a miracle for Roma to overcome a 5-2 deficit but they gave it their best shot, eventually losing 7-6 on aggregate.
Liverpool were worthy winners – they were the better of the two teams across both legs – but Roma played their part in what was an absorbing tie.
The Italian club earned a great deal of respect from football fans around the world, in part due to their phenomenal Twitter presence.
If you’re on Twitter and you’re not following Roma’s English account, you really should be.
On Saturday morning they posted a brilliant tweet to sum up how they feel about the Champions League final.
Roma posted a picture of Chelsy Davy, Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend, looking glum as she appeared at the wedding of Harry and Meghan Markle last weekend.
