Julian Brandt is reportedly being targeted by Liverpool in preparation for the summer transfer window, sparking a strong reaction on social media. 

The 20-year-old has impressed greatly since breaking into the Bayer Leverkusen first-team two seasons ago, while starring for Germany at every youth level from Under-15 onwards.

That national team career includes four caps for Joachim Low’s senior side and a run to the final of the 2016 Olympic Games.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside giants are now plotting a move for the talented winger.

Brandt is valued at £20 million by Leverkusen, the source suggests, though would not be available to purchase this month.

Instead, the report claims that Liverpool will challenge Bayern Munich for his signature in the summer, as Klopp will seek to rebuild his squad for a campaign almost certain to include European football.

Brandt has certainly showcased his potential this season, playing in every Bundesliga and Champions League fixture, creating a squad-high total of 31 scoring chances across the two competitions.
