Liverpool youngster Neco Williams has potentially hit back at abuse from fans of his own club, liking a post of his highlights that stated ‘f*** the haters’.
Earlier this season, the 19-year-old faced horrific abuse from Reds supporters after making a mistake in their 7-2 victory over Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.
Despite the convincing win, fans chose to level terrible abuse at the teenager for losing possession in the build up to Lincoln’s first goal. Williams decided to ‘black out’ his account on Twitter as a result, which led to support from some quarters.
Now, after a great display against Ajax in the Champions League, the full-back has liked a post showing a classy first touch of his from the game – which goes alongside the comment: “Neco Williams appreciation Tweet… F*** the haters! #LFC”.
During the 1-0 win over the Dutch giants, Williams assisted Curtis Jones for the only goal of the game. It was also the first time that two teeangers have combined for a goal in the Champions League for Liverpool.

Quite rightly, the defender may have felt that now was the time to remind his detractors of what they had said earlier in the year – although it isn’t explicit that it was targetted at them.
With an injury crisis ongoing at Anfield, Williams may be hoping for further opportunities to show his abilities over the Christmas period.
If he can keep up moves like these, he could be a fan favourite before too long – making the earlier abuse even more inexplicable.
