Liverpool and Arsenal target Karim Benzema will not be allowed to leave Real Madrid this summer under any circumstances, according to reports
The former Lyon star has not been in top form this season and may as well depart the Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign. He has only scored 9 times in 24 league outings for the La Liga side this season.
The Spanish news outlet Don Balon previously claimed that Arsenal and Liverpool have both made offers for the 29-year-old finisher, amid interest from hosts of European clubs (Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan).
But now the same source claim Real manager Zinedine Zidane has now put a halt on the hitman leaving the Spanish capital. The report says Zidane sees Benzema as an indispensable member of his squad and has told the club to reject all transfer offers for the Frenchman.
Benzema, who is rated at around ‘€50m-€60m‘, has spent eight years at Spanish capital since joining the club from Lyon in 2009. He’s racked 239 appearances for the Royal club, scoring 120 goals.
The Gunners expected to sign striker as Alexis Sanchez is yet to sign a new contract at the club, despite a big money offer being on the table.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have lacked a world class hitman since the departure of Uruguayan star Luis Suarez. Also, they need a quality replacement for out-of-favour Daniel Sturridge, who is expected to change a workplace at the end of the season.
