Euro Giants Set to Make £97m January Bid For Liverpool Attacker

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona are preparing a £97m bid for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho in January, as the Brazilian continues to pursue a move to the La Liga side, the Express report.

It is believed that Barcelona’s return bid will be identical to the one that got turned down in the summer, with the Spanish giants not willing to meet Liverpool’s demands of £175 million for the 25-year-old, who is under contract with the Reds until June 2022, having signed a new deal in January 2017.

Coutinho’s potential move to the Catalan giants was one of the most talked about transfer sagas of the summer, with Barcelona making him their number one target to replace Neymar who was sold to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee.

The Brazilian has impressed since his return to the side, with his most recent goal coming in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle, and is believed to be in constant contact with Barca executives and potential new teammates in a hope a move can be agreed.
