ROMA have contacted Liverpool over a deal to sign Mamadou Sakho this summer.
Roma are seeking a new centre-back after losing Antonio Rudiger to Chelsea.
Kostas Manolas may also be prised away from the Serie A club, meaning replacements need to be lined up.
And the Sun on Sunday claim Liverpool’s Sakho is now on their radar.
According to the report, the Rome club have already spoken to Liverpool about a possible deal.
Sakho has been exiled from the Liverpool squad since last summer after upsetting manager Jurgen Klopp on their pre-season tour.
The centre-back played half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace before a knee injury ended that stint.
Palace want to sign Sakho again but on loan – an agreement Liverpool are not keen on.
The Reds would prefer to cash in on the France international and get him off their books for good.
The Sun on Sunday say Liverpool value Sakho at £30million, which may be too much for Roma.
They are already in fierce negotiations with Leicester over a move for Riyad Mahrez and are unwilling to stump up the £45m fee the Foxes are demanding.
Roma and Liverpool have already been in business this summer, with Mohamed Salah joining the Anfield club in a deal worth around £40m.
Mahrez was earmarked as the perfect replacement for the Egyptian.
