England fans absolutely loved what Dominic Solanke did minutes into his senior debut

It was a fairly interesting international break for England, with manager Gareth Southgate having to enter experimental mode due to a number of absentees.

The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson were all missing, meaning that a number of young stars were handed some priceless senior minutes.

Joe Gomez thrived against both Germany and Brazil, as did Harry Maguire, while Tammy Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also done their reputation some good in the forward areas.

In the final game against the Selecao, a surprising name was handed his senior debut; Liverpool’s Dominic Solanke.

He may have starred during England’s U20 World Cup triumph, but the fact still remains that he is yet to start a Premier League game for either the Reds or former club Chelsea.

But, he was given his bow at Wembley and he showed some promising touches.

SOLANKE’S FIRST ACT AS AN ENGLAND PLAYER

It was his first involvement that really got fans talking as the Liverpool man fought for the ball in midfield, drove forward and then left Manchester City’s Fernandinho for dead.

The well-executed nutmeg was a pretty decent way to announce yourself on the international stage.

The highlights from his cameo role weren’t too bad either and he nearly grabbed a winner late on in the match.

However, he could not guide in Ashley Young’s brilliant cross.
