Emre Can has issued his backing for new Liverpool signing Mohamed Salah and says he’s looking forward to lining up with his new team-mate.
The Egypt international put pen to paper on a long-term contract with Liverpool after the Reds completed a £36.7m deal for the AS Roma winger.
Salah returns to England with a point to prove after the 24-year-old struggled to impress during his stint at Premier League champions Chelsea.
The African forward scored 15 goals and made 11 assists in Serie A last season to finish as one of the Italian top flight’s most-creative players.
Liverpool midfielder Can has been checking out Salah’s stats from the 2016-17 campaign and the Germany international is impressed with the African’s potential.
“I am really looking forward to it because he’s a really good player,” Can is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
“Yesterday or the day before I saw the stats for him from last year in Italy. I think he will be a very good player for Liverpool.”
Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure a return to the Champions League.
The Reds will be hoping to reach the Champions League group-stage draw with the prospect of a potentially awkward playoff clash.
Klopp has signed two players in the 2017 summer transfer window after Liverpool recruited England Under-20 international Dominic Solanke and Roma’s Salah.
