Emre Can sends message to new Liverpool signing

Emre Can has issued his backing for new Liverpool signing Mohamed Salah and says he’s looking forward to lining up with his new team-mate.

The Egypt international put pen to paper on a long-term contract with Liverpool after the Reds completed a £36.7m deal for the AS Roma winger.

Salah returns to England with a point to prove after the 24-year-old struggled to impress during his stint at Premier League champions Chelsea.

The African forward scored 15 goals and made 11 assists in Serie A last season to finish as one of the Italian top flight’s most-creative players.

Liverpool midfielder Can has been checking out Salah’s stats from the 2016-17 campaign and the Germany international is impressed with the African’s potential.

“I am really looking forward to it because he’s a really good player,” Can is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

“Yesterday or the day before I saw the stats for him from last year in Italy. I think he will be a very good player for Liverpool.”

Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure a return to the Champions League.

The Reds will be hoping to reach the Champions League group-stage draw with the prospect of a potentially awkward playoff clash.

Klopp has signed two players in the 2017 summer transfer window after Liverpool recruited England Under-20 international Dominic Solanke and Roma’s Salah.
