Liverpool star Phillipe Coutinho publicly attempted to play down the rumours linking him with a move to Barcelona, claiming his focus is on the present.
The Reds playmaker is currently on international duty with Brazil in Australia, after another impressive season for Liverpool.
Coutinho’s excellent form has brought with it increasing speculation that he could be a target for Barcelona this summer. The 25-year-old has acknowledged the rumours, and his less than definitive response may not convince all Reds supporters.
“Talking about this is complicated,” Coutinho said at a press conference – via the Liverpool Echo.
“I have a contract with my club and it is long. So my focus is on the present and the national team. My focus is here.”
Coutinho is set to captain the Brazilian national team for the first time in his career when they play Australia at the MCG on Tuesday.

Liverpool have continually insisted that their star player is not for sale at any price, ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The €70m-rated attacker signed a new five-year contract at Anfield in January, but has regularly been the subject of reports linking him with a move to Barcelona in the Spanish press.
The former Inter man made 31 appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool this season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists as Jurgen Klopp’s side secured a top four finish.
