Liverpool fans have been shocked by former striker Dirk Kuyt’s brand-new look – with the former Netherlands man ditching his iconic curls.
Kuyt became a cult hero during his six-year stay at Anfield and helped the club win a League Cup in 2011.
His tireless work ethic was something appreciated on Merseyside as was his long, curled hair.
But an appearance on Sky Sports News has seen fans wonder what has happened to the real Kuyt.
Former Netherlands international Dirk Kuyt says Donny van de Beek must continue to be patient at Manchester United, and there is a big jump from Eredivisie to the Premier League. pic.twitter.com/SPykREWKkY— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) February 19, 2021
Wearing a formal turtleneck sweater with smart, pushed back hair, Kuyt looks completely different to his playing days.
Fans have reacted to the 40-year-old’s changes and they’re convinced he’s been replaced with somebody else.
I refuse to believe that is Dirk Kuyt. Someones done an insurance job on him an got some Dutch accountant in as a stand in pic.twitter.com/CrDLVzjLZe— Dan (@MikeHoopersPerm) February 19, 2021
Just put on Sky Sports News and seen this handsome so-and-so talking about his memories of the Merseyside derby. No idea who it was, and then his name came up – it’s Dirk Kuyt!— Sachin Nakrani (@SachinNakrani) February 19, 2021
