Dejan Lovren has an exciting message Reds fans will love

Having set a club record points total in the Premier League this season, the Reds have been doing a brilliant job despite ultimately finishing second to Manchester City in the title race.

The improvement that the Reds have undertaken since Jurgen Klopp arrived at the club in October 2015 has been simply remarkable.

Reds under the German’s guidance, as he delivered a positive message in the run-up to the Champions League final against Tottenham in two week’s time.

According to the Daily Star, Lovren said: “When you look back on the last three years, it was every season improvement. When Klopp came, every year we did better and better.

“Last season we did quite well, we had quite a lot of injuries and reached the final of the Champions League. This year, with the new players, we reached second place with 97 points and again the final of the Champions League.”

The 29-year-old is unlikely to play in the Champions League final, and might not even make the bench with Joe Gomez fit and Joel Matip the favourite to start alongside Virgil van Dijk, which just goes to show the strength in depth the Reds have in that area.

Lovren will be cheering on his teammates, though, and says there is even more to come under Klopp for this side, adding that he would welcome new additions being made during the summer transfer window.

He added: “With this team, we can only improve. We are still young so we learn every day something new and this is what matters: to keep this team all together in one place.

“Of course, if there are new improvements to come, I mean new players, they are always welcomed.”

Time will tell who those new signings prove to be, but however the final goes in Madrid, the Reds will be right back at it again next season, with another Premier League title tilt and Champions League run hopefully on the horizon.
