LIVERPOOL defender Tom Brewitt is set to join Chesterfield on loan in January, according to reports.
Brewitt has been a standout performer in Liverpool’s academy and captained the Under-18s before moving up to the U23 squad in April 2014.
The 19-year-old signed a new long-term deal with the Reds in June but is yet to break into the senior squad.
And according to website Football Insider, Brewitt is on the brink of joining League One club Chesterfield on loan.
The centre-half is said to be on trial with Danny Wilson’s side and will sign until the end of the season if he impresses.
Brewitt lined up for Chesterfield’s reserves yesterday in their 3-0 win at home to Rotherham.
If he makes the move to the Proact Stadium he will link up with fellow Liverpool youngster Ryan Fulton who is on a season-long loan.
Fulton has made 11 League One appearances for Chesterfield this season who currently sit 17th in the table.
