Liverpool have told Jurgen Klopp he will be handed the entire windfall to spend on new recruits if Philippe Coutinho is sold for £130million in January.
Barcelona are desperate to sign the Brazilian playmaker and are expected to return with a huge offer having failed to land him over the summer.
According to The Mirror, Barcelona are confident of agreeing a deal with Liverpool. To ease Coutinho’s departure, Klopp will be given all the money raised from the sale to sign new players – with Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk top of the wishlist.
Liverpool tried to sign the Dutchman in the summer but could not get Saints to agree to a move.
Van Dijk could cost around £70m but that would still leave £60m to sign a creative playing in Coutinho’s mould.
