Mamadou Sakho is unlikely to play again this season.
With just two weeks of the Premier League campaign remaining, it looks increasingly likely that Crystal Palace will have to do without the services of the Liverpool loanee.
Sakho suffered a serious knee injury in the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham, although a modicum of good news came when it was revealed not to be ligament damage.
However, it does not look as if he will return to play a part this season, after manager Sam Allardyce confirmed the centre-back had returned to his native France to recover.
He said: “Mamadou is in France rehabbing. His only focus is on rehab and trying to improve the injury on a 24/7 basis.
“Our medical staff are highly qualified but have 25 to 30 players to focus on. He’s in the best place for rehab.
“You can’t place a time on an injury, that’s done far too often in this game.”
