Roma president James Pallotta has all but ended Liverpool’s chances of signing Alisson this summer but insisting there’s ‘zero’ chance of him leaving the Serie A giants.
The Reds have been tracking the Brazilian stopper this season and view him as the perfect replacement for Simon Mignolet, who has lost his number one spot this term.
The 25-year-old has emerged as one of the most promising goalkeepers in Europe and is Brazil’s first choice ahead of Manchester City stopper Ederson. Alisson will face Liverpool in the semi-finals of the Champions League but Pallotta says he will not be moving to Anfield.
‘We have no intention of selling him,’ Pallotta told Sky Sport Italia. ‘I mean zero at all. I’m sure some people will probably come in with some bids, but I don’t have any interest in selling him, he’s a great goalkeeper.
‘When we got him, I thought the same thing and as far as I’m concerned, I mean no.’
Liverpool are all but guaranteed a place in the top four this season and will switch their attention to the Champions League. An astonishing 5-1 aggreagate win against Manchester City set-up Liverpool’s last four clash with Roma.
