Chelsea and Liverpool are both competing to sign Uruguay wonderkid Gustavo Viera this summer, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Premier League champions have been linked with a move to sign the teenager this summer.
The 16-year-old has also been touted as a target for both Merseyside clubs Liverpool and Everton in the transfer window.
Viera, dubbed in the article as the “next Luis Suarez”, is currently playing for Uruguayan club Liverpool in Montevideo.
The same article states that Viera is a big fan for Premier League duo Chelsea and Liverpool.
Indeed, his footballing heroes include Liverpool legend Suarez and Chelsea icon Didier Drogba.
Chelsea won the Premier League title in their first season under Antonio Conte last term after finishing seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool secured a return to the Champions League thanks to a fourth-placed finish ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League table.
Suarez scored 31 goals in 33 games as Liverpool narrowly missed out on a first Premier League title in 2014.
