SEAN DYCHE says Jon Flanagan is enjoying life at Burnley.
The 23-year-old linked up with the Clarets on a season-long loan deal in August as he continues his comeback from a lengthy injury lay-off.
But he’s so far made just one appearance since swapping Anfield for Turf Moor, having started the shock EFL Cup defeat to local rivals Accrington Stanley.
He’s been included in the east Lancashire outfit’s matchday squad for their last four Premier League fixtures.
Though Matt Lowton and Stephen Ward’s impressive performances have forced him to settle for a spectator’s spot on the bench.
Despite his lack of game time, Dyche says the Liverpool loanee is taking his current situation in his stride.
“There is a good competition there [at full-back],” he told the Lancashire Telegraph.
“Flanners has fitted in well here and he’s getting back to real fitness and sharpness, it takes a long time, we’ve seen it with our lads. He’d been out for a long time.
“He’s enjoying it, he wants to play of course but he’s enjoying what we offer here.”
Flanagan will be hoping he’s given the chance to shine when Burnley visit Southampton this weekend.
