Liverpool have been installed the clear second favourites to sign Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Ladbrokes have detailed in a report on their website that the Reds are currently priced at 4/1 to land the 26-year-old, only narrowly behind favourite Juventus (3/1).
A number of elite European clubs then trail the Merseyside giants with Chelsea the closest at 8/1, while Manchester United and Manchester City share odds of 10/1.
It is detailed in the Ladbrokes report that Jurgen Klopp’s reported pursuit of a number of wingers, including Mohamed Salah, Dusan Tadic and Gelson Martins this summer has seen the odds drop for Costa, who is predominantly a left-winger with the ability to also play on the right.
Additionally, the 19-time capped Brazil international may be looking for a move this summer after starting just 15 league matches for Bayern Munich last season.
The £30m-rated electric winger played 34 times in total in all competitions, returning seven goals while also providing nine assists.
He has been at Bayern Munich since the summer of 2015 and still has three years remaining on his contract.
However, the lure of first team football with Liverpool could tempt Costa in a move to Klopp’s team, who will be competing in the Champions League next season.
