Jurgen Klopp has revealed the full extent of Diogo Jota’s knee injury, and Liverpool fans will not enjoy the news.
The Portuguese will be out for up to two months according to Klopp, confirming what was reported earlier this week.
Jota has made an incredible start to his Anfield career, scoring five goals in nine Premier League appearances and four in six in the Champions League.
However, he will have to wait to add to his tally after Klopp said: “No surgery needed, but Jota will be out for a while. We don’t know exactly, but one-and-a-half, two months.”
As such, this will be a huge blow to the Merseyside club, with supporters disappointed after their side had unearthed another gem.
Some football fans have even turned on manager Klopp, blaming the German for playing Jota in a match with nothing riding on it. Liverpool were already through to the next round of the Champions League when the forward was injured against Midtjylland.
