BAYER LEVERKUSEN appear to have stolen a march on Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign Genk star Leon Bailey.
The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the world’s leading young talents since making his senior debut in 2015.
And his performances have caught the eye of a host of top European clubs.
Premier League quartet Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and Bournemouth were credited with interest in Bailey by the Daily Mail last week.
While Roma and Bayer Leverkusen are said to be keen on securing the Jamaica Under-23 ace’s services too.
It seems the Bundesliga outfit have now moved ahead of their transfer rivals in pursuit of his signature though.
Kristof Terreur, of Belgian outlet HLN, has suggested Bailey could be on his way to Germany.
He tweeted: “Genk talent Leon Bailey has reached a personal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen.
“Clubs still have to find an agreement.”

Chelsea and Liverpool now face a battle to convince Bailey to snub Bayer Leverkusen for a move to England.
The £20m-rated winger has made 54 appearances for Genk, netting eight goals.
And this Saturday’s showdown with Mechelen could prove to be his last game for the Belgian Pro League side.
