LIVERPOOL have bid £42m for Alvaro Morata, according to reports.
Spanish outlet Don Balon say the Real Madrid forward is starting to attract more attention from Europe’s biggest clubs.
The striker is said to be Chelsea’s No.1 target this summer with boss Antonio Conte a huge fan.
But there is now competition in what had appeared to be a one-horse race.
Morata looks certain to leave Madrid this summer after struggling to break into Zinedine Zidane’s first team.
It looked like he was Chelsea-bound but Jurgen Klopp has thrown a spanner in the works.
Real are said to have rejected the £42m proposal with president Floretino Perez sensing a bidding war.
Conte has offered Morata game time and the chance to start racking up the trophies in west London.
His girlfriend is also said to have bought a house in London ahead of his expected move.
Morata has made 21 appearances in the Spanish La Liga, has scored 12 goals this season, and registered two assists. He has a shot accuracy of 61%.
