PAUL KONCHESKY says Ryan Sessegnon should snub interest from the Premier League and stay at Fulham.
The 16-year-old defender has been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage as he approaches his 17th birthday.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was thought to be at the front of the queue for his signature, although Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are also in the running.
But Konchesky, who had a short and uninspiring stint at Anfield, reckons the starlet needs to stay put.
“Obviously as an older player now I always like to see the younger players stay at the club they’re getting a chance with and make a name for themselves,” Konchesky told 888Sport.
“He’s certainly doing that right now.
“Another big year with Fulham and you just don’t know what’s around the corner but if Fulham go up to the Premier League then why would he have to leave?
“He is obviously a very talented young boy but the confidence these players have these days you just wouldn’t think he was sixteen years of age.”
Sessegnon has made 18 appearances for Fulham, scoring four goals.
