Liverpool have been interested in signing Mohamed Salah for quite some time and the latest reports really look positive for the Merseysiders.
Few days back, we covered a report (via Daily Mail) claiming that the Reds are not prepared to pay Roma’s asking price for the Egyptian international.
The latest updates are interesting. Yesterday, Egyptian source Yallakora reported that Liverpool have made an offer worth 45 million euros to hire the services of the African star, who is rated (CalcioMercato & Yallakora) around 50 million euros by the Giallorossi
Today, renowned Italian source Corriere dello Sport have claimed that the transfer process was slowed down last week but now Salah is closing in on a deal to complete his move to Liverpool and the fee will be around 40 million euros.
The report says that after a torrid period with Chelsea, Salah will move back to the Premier League and look to impress. Corriere dello Sport further claimed that the transfer could be formally completed early on in this week.
Back in 2014, Liverpool were close to signing Mohamed when he used to play for Swiss side Basel, however, he ended up moving to Stamford Bridge instead. If reports are anything to go by then it seems highly likely that they will complete his signing this time around.
Liverpool lack depth and pace in the attacking department therefore, signing the 24-year-old playmaker is absolutely necessary. Salah scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists in all competitions for the Italian side last season.
