Real Madrid and Roma could finally reach an agreement for the transfer of Alisson Becker, according to reports from the Spanish media outlet Marca.
Madrid’s initial offer of £43.8 million plus bonuses was considerably short of Roma’s £61.3 million valuation, but the two clubs are said to have now agreed on a fee.
The two sides are expected to settle in the middle at £52.6 million, much to the disappointment of Liverpool who are also heavily interested in the Brazilian goalkeeper.
Alisson is currently under contract with Roma until 2021, but it’s known that he wants to leave to a bigger club despite a brilliant season for the Serie A side in which he played a vital role in them reaching the Champions League semi-final.
He played 61 games over the course of the 2017/18 season, including 37 of Roma’s 38 league games. The 25-year-old is now currently on international duty at the World Cup for Brazil, and he started ahead of other strong option Ederson in their opening game against Switzerland on Sunday.
Brazil’s next game is against Costa Rica in Group E before a final match against Serbia.
