The representative of Iker Casillas has rubbished links with a move to Liverpool as “crazy” stating his client is content with life at FC Porto.
Casillas’ present deal with the Portuguese powerhouse runs out in June 2018 with no guarantee of an extension.
After starting in the club’s opening eight matches, he was dropped for their recent outing against Paços Ferreira, which saw the rumour mill going into overdrive, and the subsequent link with the Reds that has since been categorically denied by his agent Carlo Cutropia.
“Of the crazy stuff I have seen, this is the craziest. It is crazy and there is no truth in it,” he told Radio Renascenca, per Goal.
“Casillas is calm and happy at Porto and he wants to play, logically, just like any footballer. I believe that Iker and the manager speak everyday, but there are issues between the manager and the player.
“You have to give it time but there is complete calm. I am reading many things in the press, everything is false, and it leaves me surprised, and that is it.”
A two-time European champion and World Cup winner the 36-year-old Spanish shot-stopper ended a 25-year association with boyhood club Real Madrid by joining FC Porto in the summer of 2015.
During his time with Los Blancos, in which he made 725 first-team appearances, he lifted five league titles as well as three European Cups.
Since joining FC Porto he’s featured across no fewer than 93 matches registering 44 clean sheets (0.47 per game) whilst conceding 68 goals (one every 90 minutes to be precise).
