Athletic Bilbao winger Inaki Williams has revealed that he was pleased to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
The Reds were joined by Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan in being linked with his services and Marca have claimed that Williams has a £44m release clause in his contract.
In an interview with Spanish publication AS, Williams has revealed his pride in being linked to some of the top clubs in Europe, while the newspaper spoke about his similarities to Ousmane Dembele.
“That big teams are interested in you or you can see yourself linked to them, you like it, it’s a sign that you’re doing well,” Williams said.
Last campaign, Williams contributed five goals and six assists in 31 La Liga starts for Bilbao, while he has already provided three assists for his team-mates this term.
On his value and the reported release clause in his contract, the Spain international said: “I don’t know what I’m worth. The president put that clause and what has to come will come.”
