Aston Villa star Jordan Amavi insists is not thinking about leaving the club despite rumoured interest from Liverpool and French giants Marseille.
Amavi impressed at the beginning of last season after joining from Nice in the summer, but he suffered a bad injury on international duty with France under-21s which ultimately ended his campaign.
He recently regained his place in the Villa side and has started the last five matches under Steve Bruce, with Villa winning three and drawing the other two.
Amavi was recently linked with a move to French side Marseille, while Liverpool were supposedly keeping tabs on him throughout the summer.
The 22-year-old Frenchman told French media outlet SoFoot: “For now, I’m at Aston Villa, they rely on me.
“I will do my best to make up. Later, we will see later. I do not think I’ll go to Marseille, I’m at Aston Villa and I do not think about leaving.”
“Personally, I feel well at Aston Villa, the atmosphere in the group is good, the facilities are beautiful, the city is beautiful too. Despite the fact that we’re in D2 (Championship), I am at Aston Villa.
“The summer transfer window, I told my agent I wanted to stay, and leaders have asked my opinion too. If clubs were positioned, I do not know if Villa would have let me go, but I had decided to stay.
“Today, I play, I try to get back to my best.”
