2 Last Minute Deals That Liverpool Need To Complete Before The Window Closes – Including This PL Star

Two Deals That Liverpool Need To Complete Before The Deadline Day This Summer

After a victory in the first leg of the Champions League qualifier, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are one of the many clubs that are still busy in the transfer market this summer. The German manager has made a couple of decent additions to his squad but is still looking for players who can improve the quality in the first team.

The second leg against Hoffenheim can decide their future and if they qualify for the group stage, Liverpool are sure to get deals done in the final week of the transfer window. There is not much time left for that game and here are two such deals Liverpool should complete before the end of the transfer window.

Mamadou Sakho

The French defender is one of the best centre-backs in the league at the moment but has lost his place in the first team at Anfield after a series of events at the start of the previous season. He spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Crystal Palace, putting in some match-winning performances but has not been able to earn the trust of Jurgen Klopp, and has no way back into the squad at Anfield.

Liverpool want £30m from the potential suitors, but that is scaring most clubs away. And if Klopp is determined not to let him near the first team this season as well, there is no point in waiting for clubs to meet his valuation, especially with time running out in the transfer window. Surely, Liverpool should find a way to offload him before the deadline day.

Virgil van Dijk (Southampton)

The Dutch international is the top transfer target for Liverpool this season but an early incident with the player and his club made sure that Liverpool had to apologize for their actions and withdrawtheir interest in the player. Van Dijk still wants a move to Liverpool and though is wanted by Chelsea and Manchester City, he is holding out on a move to Anfield.

He could cost close to £65m but solves a number of problems that are currently pulling the team down and Klopp should do all it takes to land him this summer. Van Dijk has already handed a transfer request and Liverpool might be waiting to confirm their Champions League qualification before making one definitive move for the 26-year old. Surely, they should do what it takes to land him before the deadline day.
