LIVERPOOL star Mohamed Salah is better than Philippe Coutinho because he is more efficient. That’s according to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
The Egyptian has enjoyed a stunning first season at Anfield following his switch from Roma last summer.
The 25-year-old has formed a devastating frontline alongside Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, as well as Philippe Coutinho prior to this move to Barcelona last month.
Liverpool fans were concerned that the loss of the Brazilian would damage Jurgen Klopp’s side but the form of Salah and co has carried on their momentum in the pursuit of a top four place.
And Henry has hailed Salah, suggesting that his direct playing style is perfect for Liverpool’s system.
“I like his movement, he always wants to go in behind,” he told Sky Sports. “There’s no step-overs, there’s no trying to nutmeg, there’s no skills for no reason.
“He’s going at you, if you’re ready or not that’s your problem. I said at the beginning, I predicted that he can be as efficient as Coutinho.
“He has been more efficient than Coutinho in his first season. So we will see how far he’s going to go with that.
“Listen, if you’re a Liverpool fan and you have (Roberto) Firmino, Salah, (Sadio) Mane, you can only be happy.”
Liverpool are currently third in the Premier League, two points behind second-placed Manchester United.
They return to action on Saturday evening as they welcome struggling Newcastle to Anfield (5.30pm).
